 End of the Week Update - 003

    Since apparently we’re at war because we have a dumbass president it doesn’t really feel like a good time to write out what’s going on with an end of the week update, but gods damn it I need some semblance of normalcy and this is going to be it. I don’t give a flying fuck that this is only a few weeks old of a blog, but it’s the only consistent thing I have going on that isn’t work.

    Anyways, you can tell how my mood is, so I’ll just get on with what’s happened this week:

  • Monday
    • Finished the Pseudo-code, the flowchart, and the base logic for the chrome extension tool that a coworker wanted done. It’s coming out nicely.
    • Posted the Affirmation Station audio to r/PillowTalkAudio, 2.4k views, 4 upvotes, and about 35 listens, so pretty good for a first time.
  • Tuesday
    • Have the extension tool up and running, at least a beta version that I was able to show off to a few folks on Wednesday
    • Uploaded the devlog for Project://JUNO
    • Purchased Lucid subscription for the year\
  • Wednesday
    • Had an enlightening discussion with the coworker and another to come to more solid decisions about the extension and have a more solid plan for it now
  • Thursday
    • Worked on the video OST detector and switched from using PyTesseract to EasyOCR which is capturing the instances much more, but still coming up with false positive
      • Captures things with an @ symbol very easily
      • Captures credits
      • Does not capture other instances well and sometimes false positives
  • Friday
    • Continued on the OST items
    • Looked into creating a universal spreadsheet parser to look into doing some freelance data entry on the side
  • Saturday
    • Adding it in cause why not: got the new video game “Date Everything” so far pretty fun
    • Currently writing this update and having my head in my hands as I continue to look at the news
    • Hoping things turn around soon…

    That’s about it for this EoW update. Man, I didn’t mean to be such a bummer, but seriously! I don’t know, I just… I really hope there’s at least a bit of small good news tomorrow, like Pepsi Blue is brought back.

    No lesson of the week, too out of it for that. Catch ya next time.

 Start of Week - Update 009 By A.A. Lopez     Let's see, it's been... 2 weeks since the last update. Not bad for me; usually, the break is 3. But let's see where we're at, what we're trying to do, and if there's anything upcoming for this week.     Honestly, I've put a lot of my projects off to the side for the past week or so due to the RTO order that came in a few weeks ago, along with layoffs looming overhead. So I've just been letting myself have the time to breathe and have room. Though I am keeping up with streaming every Friday at 7 PM, with different ideas for each stream. Last week's was focused on creating vector art with a real-life photo; it came out incredibly creepy, so I deleted it after the stream.     But I am feeling the need to get back to at least trying to focus on my creative projects again. I can't let these things just go to the wayside. I want to do them all, I just really need to find a way to organize myself better. At ...

End of Week Update - 008

End of Week Update - 008 By A.A.Lopez     You know, I tend to start each of these EoW updates with "Oh, I'm so tired," or "That was a long week." Just things to those effects, but seriously, I feel like this past week was much too much. Not going to get too much into it cause a lot of it deals with NDA stuff, but gods, I need a way off the rollercoaster.     But let's not focus too much on the week and focus on the accomplishments that happened!     Biggest thing, had my first stream this past Friday, as well as a second one on Saturday. You can see that it resulted in two art pieces, "pieces", they were sketches, and the stream got away from me a bit. Yet, I think I learned a lot from my time doing it. From how to use OBS to trying to be a good host. Was I excellent? No. Did I have a lot of viewers? No. Was it fun and worth leaning into and learning? Yes. So I think I will continue on this path for just a bit longer.     Of course, I should also ...
